Bunky Beds

Since we needed the mattress from Madie's toddler bed to put back into the crib before Audrey comes, we decided it was time to upgrade Madie's bed.  I thought maybe a daybed, but I really knew she would get a kick out of having bunk beds in her room. The whole ladder and high up bed thing you know. Then I started looking at prices and even the used ones were SO expensive.  And then you need to buy 2 mattresses of course as well.  And since her furniture is white and I wanted to stick with that, it narrowed my options even more. But we ended up finding a twin bunk bed at Fleet Farm for only $200. A white-painted pine one with mission style head and foot boards. Perfect.  And my mom threw in 2 new twin mattresses.  So Jason picked them up on Tuesday and put it all together for her Tuesday night. She was SO excited. And it was so worth it too because she LOVES them.  She climbs up and down and up and down, bringing all her stuffed animals and dolls to the top. I convinced her it was best to sleep in the bottom and play on the top thank goodness because the top is a little bit high and gives me a little bit of a heart attack thinking about her sleeping up there.  I thought there would be a couple of restless nights in a new bed, but she has been sleeping so great in there. I think it is a lot softer and cozier than her little toddler bed and mattress.  So now our Monkey has bunk beds of her very own, and she couldn't be happier.  She climbs in at night and says, "Ohh, this is niiiice".  Last night she didn't even want to read books, just wanted to get right into bed.  Yes, monkey, this IS nice.
