It was a very Happy Valentine's Day

Saturday morning was not only Valentine's Day, but also a milestone. I was laying on the bed while Jason got ready for the day and Maddie was kicking. I pressed my hand on the outside of my stomach and lo and behold I felt her on the outside! I told Jason and he pressed his hand in the same place. Only seconds later, he felt his first kick! Tears sprang to my eyes right away. Because I am pregnant and hormonal. He was happy too though :)

We kind of skipped the "typical" Valentine's day this year and opted to not spend a bunch of money since we have the house buying/baby rearing expenses looming on the horizon. We had breakfast at the Pancake House. Remind me not to go there. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant per se, but their menu is just not for me. I love breakfast, but I am a little particular about my breakfast foods. I do NOT like eggs. I will occasionally order an omelet as a last resort and maybe eat a couple bites of the outside, but basically just eat the filling. However, this place used about 5 eggs for their omelet and they were all fluffy and mixed in, holding the cheesy sausagy goodness hostage. Not an option. The other problem was that we were at the PANCAKE house. I do not like pancakes either. But I was able to order my old standby, which I can usually always find on the "side" menu: Hashbrowns, Bacon, and Toast with PB. Yum!

Saturday night, we were lucky enough to have another couple invite us out to the Wild game. Her dad has 4 season tickets in really great seats that she usually has 2 of, but was able to snag all 4 that night. We lost, but it was a good time regardless. This couple is a lot of fun and the four of us get along great. Unfortunately, they have decided to move to AZ April 1st, and while I am happy for them in all their engaged bliss, I am bummed that we are going to be without them! We will definitely be visiting though, probably next year when Maddie is a bit bigger and can travel better.

Since she will not be able to attend the baby shower at the end of April, Ashley brought me back from AZ the custest little piggy bank you have ever seen. It is a little ballerina, not quite the same, but similar, to this one:

I know right? So freaking cute. And the first of what will become Jason's own pink frilly nightmare! Yes, my favorite color is light pink. Add a baby girl to the mix and 60-70 women attending a shower bearing gifts for said baby girl and it is bound to look like a pink cotton candy heaven (hell?) everywhere you look in about 3 months...And I couldn't be happier!
