Random Thoughts

  • They actually said "Shake Your Booty" on The Street of Sesame when me and Madie were watching it.  She is going to have a much different childhood experience than I did, whether I like it or not.
  • For lack of a better idea, we decided to get one of those play yards made out of a bunch of baby gates for our living room.  I struggled with this, because I feel like I am putting her in a cage with all her toys.  But, it is SO nice.  Her toys are contained and we can walk away for a moment without worrying about her falling into the entertainment center/down the stairs or eating the microscopic pieces of EVERYTHING that she zones in on constantly.  And we don't just leave her in there and go about our business as though we have no child so shush!
  • I found Jason and Madie in above mentioned baby cage (I kid!) (and SEE we do go in there to play with her on the daily), both on their tummies, side by side, reading a book.  So. Amazingly. Awesome.
  • Madie is eating "people" food now and loves everything.  Tuna, Broccoli, Zucchini, Green Beans (OMGosh does this child love her green beans!), Shrimp, French Onion Soup, Crab Cakes, Cauliflower, Pears, Pancakes, Eggs.  The only food she has met that she does not like is mashed potatos.  What the...???

Hey you! I hadn't been over here in a while and I ended up checking in the very day you posted something new! I can't believe how old your baby is already, and I am SO JEALOUS that she will tolerate the baby cage (hee!). If I even leave Sadie alone for a MINUTE in her pack & play, she will scream her head off. She starts crying before I even put her in there. Ditto with leaving her in a room with a baby gate for 2 minutes while I go pee. Sigh.

fist bump right back atchya. Your daughter is adorable. I've been debating about the "baby cage" or not.... our livingroom is so small though I think a cage would take over the place! Either way some serious babyproofing needs to be done at our place.
