So. Personally I think this whole swine flu "pandemic" noise is getting out of control. Yes, it is not a good thing, but with all the other things that are out to get us, why has this become The. End. Of. The. World!
I had been fretting about whether to vaccinate Mads at her checkup next week. FRETTING! Personally, I have never gotten a flu shot and I am quite weary of them. But she goes to daycare and is around other grubby hands and noses, etc so I felt like I may be doing her a disservice just because of my own personal feelings toward the shot.
Then they have to throw this H1N1 vaccine into the mix. My initial reaction to that is NO THANK YOU! They throw together a vaccine in a hurry and I am supposed to jump in line to get injected with it? Uh Uh. No way, no how. Thank goodness I read yesterday that the shot is only for 6mo and older. So no going through the guilt struggle trying to decide whether Madie should have it. Torn between not liking her having one, and how I would feel if she got the swine flu...Perhaps the regular flu shot is the same? I will have to check into that.
So, what are your feelings toward the flu shot/H1N1 shot and babies/yourselves/pregnant women (I refused a flu shot when I was pregnant also)?
OH! And side note...we have been swaddle free for 5 whole nights!!

CHEEEEKS! OMG I love her cheeks.
I think Sadie will get the vaccine, and so will I if I can. This is mostly because someone I work with got H1N1 in June, and still has not returned to work because he's had such a serious fight with it. Like, in a coma for a month kind of fight. Terribly scary. Talked to the Ped about it, and she said it's up to us, but the reaction to the shot might be much milder than the reaction to the virus. Who the hell knows.
